Patna: Bihar's Chief Minister Nitish Kumar emphasized on Saturday that being a Bihari is now a source of pride, urging citizens to support the NDA in the forthcoming assembly elections to ensure the state's rapid development.
In a video shared by his party, JD(U), Kumar stated that his focus has always been on the state's progress rather than personal gains.
He highlighted that since his government took office in November 2005, law and order in Bihar has seen significant improvements.
Kumar remarked, "Before we assumed power in 2005, the situation in Bihar was dire. We made restoring law and order our top priority, establishing a rule of law that has made being a Bihari a point of pride for many."
The JD(U) leader mentioned that his administration has implemented various initiatives aimed at empowering women, Hindus, Muslims, upper castes, Dalits, and marginalized communities.
He expressed gratitude for the continuous support from the public since 2005, stating, "We have undertaken numerous initiatives for Bihar's overall development, and we will persist in these efforts."
Kumar claimed that Bihar has experienced accelerated growth due to the combined efforts of the NDA government both at the state and central levels.
He urged voters to grant the NDA another opportunity to continue the development initiatives led by the double-engine government alongside Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
If re-elected, Kumar promised that the state would experience even faster development.
He concluded by reiterating his commitment to the state's growth, stating, "I have not prioritized my family; my focus has always been on Bihar's advancement. I ask you to vote for NDA candidates and allow us to work towards making Bihar a developed state and one of the leading states in the country."
The Bihar Assembly, consisting of 243 members, is set to hold elections in two phases on November 6 and November 11, with results expected to be announced on November 14.
